LUÍS JOHN RECEIVED IN AUDIENCE BY THE ACNOA VICE PRESIDENT

Representing the President of JJAFU, Luís John, Vice President of the African Ju-Jitsu Confederation and President of FAJUJ, met this afternoon, February 20, at a hotel in Luanda with João da Costa Alegre Afonso, Vice President of ACNOA (Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa) from São Tomé and Príncipe. The meeting focused on various topics related to the sport.

During the discussion, Luís John expressed JJAFU’s intention to become a part of ACNOA, emphasizing the goal of integrating Ju-Jitsu into the Olympic disciplines.

In response, the ACNOA Vice President highlighted the advantages of being recognized by the organization, even for non-Olympic sports. He mentioned initiatives such as the Olimpangui and other benefits associated with ACNOA membership.

Regarding the African Youth Games, he noted that Ju-Jitsu could be included as a demonstration sport. Both Morocco and Algeria have expressed interest in participating, but final approval will depend on the organization’s decision. He also stated that each country has the opportunity to invite other sports.

During the meeting, João Afonso reaffirmed his willingness to support the African Ju-Jitsu Confederation and provided clear directives to expedite the signing of a cooperation protocol in the near future.
