JJIF electoral CONGRESS 2024

While athletes from 67 countries demonstrate their skills and dedication to the Sport during the 2024 JJIF Ju-Jitsu World Championship in Heraklion, Greece, leaders of National Federations from all continents get together to discuss strategic development and make key decisions.
The Congress, chaired by JJIF Vice President – President of the Ju-Jitsu African Union, Mr. Nuvin Proag, addressed several major points.

The Ju-Jitsu community welcomed a delegation from Mato Grosso / Brazil lead by the first lady Virginia Mendez.
Huge interest and support for the Para Ju-Jitsu connects here sport and politics.

JJIF President Panagiotis Theodoropoulos reelected until 2028

Panagiotis Theodoropoulos has been re-elected as President of the Ju-Jitsu International Federation (JJIF) following a unanimous decision by the congress on October 26. His leadership, which began in 2008 after presiding over the Hellenic Ju-Jitsu Federation and the European Ju-Jitsu Union, has transformed the global landscape of the sport. 

During his tenure, Theodoropoulos has expanded the number of Ju-Jitsu national organizations and gained significant recognition by integrating Ju-Jitsu into the SportAccord Combat Games and the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), reflecting the growing prestige of this discipline.

The re-election of Theodoropoulos clearly reflects the confidence in his vision and dedication to the global growth of Ju-Jitsu. With this new term, it is expected that the JJIF will continue its expansion and strengthen its global partnerships, promoting the development of this discipline within a framework of inclusion and international cooperation

In addition to the Presidential election, the Congress re-elected the JJIF Vice Presidents: Senior Vice President Abdenmunem Al Hashmi, Vice President Nuvin Proag, Vice President Robert, and Vice President Gregory Vallarino.

The gathering facilitated discussions on developmental strategies, fostering international collaboration, and setting the agenda for the Federation’s progressive initiatives.
Indonesian, Italian, and Romanian federations received JJIF Sustainability Certificates for their efforts in promoting environmental responsibility and climate action. German federation was honored with the Sustainability Award for its outstanding commitment to sustainable practices and environmental responsibility.
