Maldives athletes receive first JJIF recognizes grading in the Style of "German Ju-Jutsu"

Since 2020 “German Ju-Jutsu” is one of the recognized styles of JJIF.

Means JJIF will approve belt levels achieved under qualified coaches and granted by registered masters.

Planned since long time but not being realized due to the corona restrictions now 5 athletes from Maldives Ju-Jitsu Federation took the chance to travel to the JJIF World Championship and train under Joachim Thumfart (7. Dan Ju-Jutsu).
Intensive work and the knowledge and abilities the athletes brought in from other martial arts made it possible to achieve the first step in the grading system the 5. Kyu (Yellow Belt).

Congratulations to:

  • Hussain Zahir (President Ju-Jitsu Maldives)
  • Fathmath Shaha Hassan (General Secretary Ju-Jitsu Maldives)
  • Ali Faris
  • Hassan Ali
  • Mohamed Shan Hassan

for going new steps in promoting Ju-Jutsu in their country.

Every journey starts with the first step.

Even if there is a background and knowledge from other styles and martial arts we always will recommend to learn and study another style from the beginning and learn about every step and level.

To shorten down the time frames for new grades is logical and a good possibility to promote the qualified athlete faster. If someone wants to identify with another Ju-Jitsu style as trained before it is not correct to just transfer grades.

That creates respect and mastership.
